The question posed to Dr. Elliot was, “Dr. Tania, what are four things you would never do as a board-certified allergist?”

In response, the renowned expert listed the four main things to avoid.

However, one viewer raised a question about melatonin, stating that it helped them sleep through the night without interruptions. Dr. Elliot responded, citing concerns about the lack of regulation in melatonin supplements and the potential health risks associated with long-term use. She pointed to recent studies showing a genetic mutation affecting insulin secretion and elevated prolactin levels linked to melatonin consumption.

Dr. Elliot concluded her response by reiterating that while melatonin might be acceptable under medical supervision and for a short duration, but it should not be considered a long-term solution. She also emphasized that her comments were general information and not medical advice.
